This is from the same morning as my previous three pelican posts. In the orig, I have the full bird. Cropped this way so that the lines intersect the LR corner. taken with 40D, 300 f/4 non-IS and a 1.4x.
Exposure Time: 1/1600.0 seconds FNumber: 7.1 ISO Speed Ratings: ISO 320
I have one with the head slightly turned towards me too...but that has some distractions in the BG. I, personally, dont mind this head angle.
Fabulous light, colors, SH, and COMP. I only wish that the bird were not angled ever-so-slightly away from you, and I mean ever so slightly..... Love the low angle and the partial reflection.

Hi Kaustubh: This pelican really pops with the bright whites and yellows. It would have been easy to mess this one up but you handled it beautifully with your exposure. I really like the composition too. Nice job.
fantastic exposure and superb colors here... i just LOVED the reflection of the light off the water onto he pouch and bill...adds so much life to the image... Congrats on this one KD...
-Cheers,
Rohan
