    Default Spoonie Fly Over

Working on some of my Fla tour images and came upon this one off of Capt. Shadle's boat. Looking forward to 2 days of Spoonies with him on next year tour! I generally prefer the landing or take-off images.....but this fly over had some appeal to me. I had to control myself with the crop tool here as I know how much you all appreciate ;) the tight crops!
Canon 1D Mark lll with the Sigma 300-800 at 610 mm for 1/4000 sec. at f7.1 and ISO 640. 3 degree rotation to aid comp and then crop clean up. I did run noise ninja on sky BG....not sure it was necessary.

    Nice one Roman.

I mine, I would lighten it more. The head looks cumbersome or too small for the bird, I know it depends on the shooting angle, still a lovely bird.

Great wing position and comp. Would like some head turn , but beyond your controll. Great colr , maybe just a tad too dark??

Roman, I agree w/ HA and you could probably lighten a bit. Very nice sharpness and wingspread. I love the colors you got on the bird and the BG is lovely. Details on the underwings are fantastic. Love the dangling feet too!

I liked the crop a lot. Nice room for the spoonie to fly into. Another vote for lightening the underside. What a beautiful bird.

Nice pose, underwing view, and clean BG. A nice tight Roman crop! I agree with the others about lightening the underside, and the awkward HA. Looks like there is a halo around the feet.

Roman, nice catch with this guy. I don't mind the HA either, it gives you a whole other perspective on his look. I agree with lightening him up some. Congrats

Hey Roman, I just love the light through the wings, and what a wingspread. You have exposed this very well. Lovely spoonbills you get over there.
