    Default Blue Vase

This is a set-up shot from my small home studio. I don't have any windows, so I took a set of blinds and hung them from a reflector stand. I shot a strobe through the blinds, and took the resulting file into simplify for a bit softer look. As always, I appreciate all thoughts and suggestions (other than taking up a different hobby) :D

Dave, I love the shadows here! Very nice lines from the blinds and the shadow from the flower and vase is lovely and well placed within the image. I like the soft painterly feel to the vase and the lace tablecloth. Very nicely done.

    Dave,
Great idea for simulation window light - it works well! I'll second Denise's comments.

Thanks everyone. Sometimes the journey is just as much a pleasure as the final destination. I was really pleased to get the look that I had envisioned here.

I like the thought you put into making this image. Great vision for this and well executed.

sweet setup Dave......my only comment would be that I would like to see a bit
more highlight for shaping in the flora.

Great idea on the blind shadows.....work that some more!

Dave, I think you found the right hobby:) This is very artfully conceived and executed. It has a dreamy effect
    which is really nice.

Very nice, Dave. Good lighting and shadow, and I like the soft feel. Agree with Dave on upping the highlights a little bit.

Personally for me, there is not one thing I would change in this beauty. Love the lines and what the light does with them. Very clever work IMO. Impressive.

In fact there is one thing I would change, I would frame it and hang it on a wall. Just love it.

    Dave,

This is a great lighting effect. Did you process this image brighter?
    Thanks for sharing...

Thanks to everyone for the thoughts. I am going to play a bit with the highlights to see how it looks. I must say though that I do like the subdued overall feel that I got here. I'll give er a try.The file is currently in my galleries as is.
