If it wasn't the Crows it was the Merlin constantly harassing this guy who was just trying to relax after having his squirrel dinner. Steep angle but he wouldn't go any lower. Same guy from my last post. I removed a few twigs and small branches from the right side of the frame to give a neater appearance. All C/C welcomed.

Hi Brian,
while I am OK with the perch leading up to the hawk being soft the feet and tail may require another round of USM. Since he wasn't flying sacrificing a bit of the SS to give it some extra DOF may have been the way to go if you had the time. It does appear a bit bright/flat on my monitor but lets see how others feel. In the ideal world the perch wouldn't come out of the back.....but nothing you could do there so keeping the head clear was a good move. I'll have to go back and check for the squirrel feeding ones!
Roman, thanks for pointing that out. When I pp a bunch of images I get carried away and didn't notice how flat it looked. I kept the aperture wide because I was hand holding (don't own a tripod) and the iso was already too high for the 50D, I was loosing light by the second as the sun was going down. I didn't see him eating the squirrel, just noticed all the blood and long strands of its tail fur stuck to his talons earlier in the day.
Hey Brian, great repost. You guys seem to have an abundance of raptors over there, or maybe Im not getting to the right places here. As there is a fork in the perch, getting rid of the perch behind him wouldnt look out of place.
