This lourie is also known as the " go away " bird. As it calls, it sounds like its saying " go away" as you approach where ever it may be perched. Taken in the Pilanesberg Nature Reserve last year.

Lots of feather detail and I like your choice of comp here. The BG compliments him nicely. Only wished for a slight head turn towards you. Congrats

I like the angle, light, crest and complementing BG. I also wish there were a bit more head turn towards you.

    Hi Stuart,
Very nice details and complimentary BG. I'm OK with the profile as it showcases the beak nicely.....especially in a portrait.

    Stuart:

Very nice detail, smooth colors, BG. Love the catchlight (horizon and sun)
I appreciate the HA question, but it works for me as presented.

    Cheers

A nice crest indeed. Love the light and eye contact here. Killer BG. I wonder how at f/8 it was not possible to get the back in focus.

Nice light, exposure, and BG. Wish for a bit better HA. IMO the image seems a tad over-sharpened.

    Keep them coming!!

Great details--Love the bg and the bird itself--looks like a character. I am OK with the profile as well--it is a great beak!
