    Walk through aviary @ Willowbank Wildlife Reserve.
    New Zealand's endemic alpine parrot the Kea.
    Pentax K10D with Tamron 70-300 @ 83mm.
    ISO 400, 1/350 @ F6.7. Multi-segment metering. Time around 3.30PM.

    Hi Ian,
    oh, I love Keas!
    The colours are pleasing in your image and I like the pose, looks like a model....
    It would be even better, if the background would be more blurred, by chosing a wider aperture.
    And may be a bit more sharpening on the keas head.

    The Kea is a good looking bird. I'm not crazy about the BG as it's distracting my attention from the Kea. Maybe a little head turn. I'd try to tone down the tops of the rocks as they are too "hot". I'd keep after these birds....a terrific opportunity with the aviary.
