Default Theme - Flower - Spathe Flower

Made this at Longwood Gardens this past summer. I really liked these spathe flowers and worked it until no angles were left. Canon EOS 40D, 70-200mm at 140mm, f/2.8, SS 1/60, ISO 100, External flash with diffuser. Pretty much this is out of camera and processed in RAW converter. I was trying to do something with my Lensbaby but that was a bust and I liked this one with the 70-200mm. I would imagine that some will love this and some will hate it. Comments welcomed!

A great b&w subject and I like the composition and approach. My only wish was that the focus was on the tip of the stem with a bit more contrast. It would enhance the image IMHO.

Nick, this is very interesting. It almost looks like an electron microscope image of pollen:eek:

Nick, I really like what you did here. It's a great idea and it does look like a lensbaby image. BTW I need to dust mine off and do some shots. Thanks for the inspiration! I think Indranil has made a few good suggestions. But I have to say this is most creative!

Simple is often best and this shows why. Very subtle. Have to add, the selective focus in this could not be better. Darn good eye to start with.

Nick, Interesting view-I'd go w/ some contrast if it were mine.

    Nick,

Most excellent composition. Like the graphic look. Did you try more contrast in your processing?
    Thanks for sharing...
