    Default On the golden pond

    This juvenile black-headed gull strikes a pose... I liked the way the autumn colours reflect in the water.

    EOS 50D + EF 300mm f/2.8L + Extender 2x
    ISO 1600, f/7.1, 1/250sec.

    Your BG in this capture is absolutely spectacular. Love the fact that your gull has his mouth wide open too. That's a nice plus. You exposed your whites well and the white looks great against the BG.

    BG is quite nice indeed, as is the composition. The open mouth also adds something unique but I do wish for a better head angle and a more natural perch.

    Gorgeous bg here. Spot on exposure on the gull and the open bill is a great addition. The perch doesn't bother me.

    I like the calling pose, eye contact and of course that BG. Too bad the gull was not sitting on a more attractive perch.

    except perch everything here is spectacular
    BTW I dont think you can do much about choice of perch by bird :)
