Hi Gary - love the pose - just wish for a little more separation between the bill and the near wing.
Shutter speed to burn - might have swapped some for some additional DOF.
Good clear sharp eye and exposure looks good.
Looking forward to seeing more :)

    Gary,

I like the picture and love Canada Geese. Agree with brother Lance,..ISO-250 and shutter 1/4000 (must have been sunny),..hence the meter is smart. No need to be wide open and most lenses are optimized 2 to 3 stops from their widest aperture. Hence, f/11 or so would have been sweet. Always easy to arm chair quarterback, this is a very neat composition with a clean eye and nice colors - well done.

Very nice, really like the wing position of this one. I like the motion blur on the wing too, it give me sense of motion. Agree about more DOF.

    Hi Gary,
I like the foward wing pose and flapping action, the color rendition is good, I too would like a tad more seperation between the bill and wing, and you might want to selective sharpen the eye just a tad more. Looking forward to your next one...

    Gary:

Excellent wing display, like the composition.

Techs have already been addressed. The bill, feather merge is a small issue as mentioned.
I agree with Gus about sharpening the eye a smidge more.

The whites on the strap and towards the tail have lost some detail, but they often look pretty smooth in direct light. Did you have to do any recovery on the whites? Did you have any compensation set on the meter, assuming you were in AV mode?

    Gary:

Looks better to me with the increased sharpness of the eye.

    Cheers
