    “Princess Of The Night”

    Note:
The image was slightly under exposed to bring out the mystery, the beauty, and sophistication of this delicate Princess. A textured sandstone oil canvas finished was applied to enhance the details and contrasting shadows. Black lighting and fiber optic strings were used to illuminate the center flower.

This exotic beauty was painted with a Nikon D3, using a Nikkor 60mm f/2.8D macro lens, with a 12mm extension tube.

    Image solution:
focal length @ 60mm / exposure mode @ aperture priority / metering mode- combination of in camera matrix metering, and hand held spot meter, sampling four anchor points, for balanced light distribution. / 1/60 sec. - f/32 / ISO @ 320 / exposure comp @ -1.0EV / white balance @ manual, custom profile using an expo disk for calibration / AF Mode @ manual / color space @ sRGB / tone comp @ +1 degree / hue adjustment @ +2 degrees / saturation factor @ +3 degrees / Lighting solution - used four 24" black light fluorescent tubes and twelve fiber optic strings placed in different positions and key angles to illuminate the center of the flower. / Support platform – tripod assist, with macro focusing rail / electronic trigger release /

    Comments greatly appreciated...

Mother Nature must have wired that flower with an internal light! Nothing to do now but print and hang. Depending on the surroundings, this one
could be a 6-inch brightener or a 16-foot mural. Beautiful work, as usual. ;)
