Grey Heron bringing nesting material home.
I have been very busy over the last while and have not had time to post and or comment.
I would have liked the bird a bit further to left in the frame, but this is full height and I dont have more space on the right.

Lovely angle, light and action here Dave. I like how you've included the juvenile in the corner.

P.S. Don't let work interfere with your hobby!

Spectacular feather detail and subject interest Dave. Do you happen to know what color the lores take on during breeding season? If you have the canvas, I would vote for more nest and bird in the nest.

Beautiful behavioral shot, perfect landing pose with nesting material, and it's nice to see the chick too! SH and detail are perfect.

Lovely landing posture from the parent, sharp, with good underwing detail. I like the excited look from the youngster, and a pity we couldnt see more of him. Still, well captured Dave.

This is sweet. The light, details, comp and poses come together really well for a great image!

Hi Dave, this is a very good shot and nicely captured. I liked the male bringing the nesting material and the fact that you captured it nicely. My only comment would be to see more of the female and if you are able to capture the eye of the female too then definitely would like to see that shot.

    Hey Dave,
Even though I too wish for more room in the nest (yeah...hard to believe) but the pose and capture is still very nice!

Thanks to all for looking and for comments they are all appreciated.
It is the female and not a chick in the nest. yes it could have been better with a bit more of the female in the nest but this was just about full frame.
Marc I wish this was captured at Godikwe (a special place in my hart) but alas this was taken closer that 5 KM from my home in Pretoria.
