Cool wing position, angle and BG. It looks as if the head is slightly angled away from you, maybe it's just because of the shape of the head.

I have to admit, this is the first puffin in flight shot I've seen, and a fantastic one too! Thanks for sharing this one.

I was going to say that I have never seen a flight shot of this bird but Connie beat me to it. Great job of hand holding from a rocking boat. One sweet shot.

I know how hard shooting from a boat is! Nice high shutterspeed to help you our there. A little more eye contact would help. Not sure about the brown spot next to head, clone that out?

Looks like the Mark II is still serving you very well.

    Nicely done!

Killer wing position but with the bird angling towards you it would have been nice if the bird had had its head on straight (rather than turned away). Nice BKGR.

Great job on a difficult exposure. Love all the colors and wing position great. Too bad about the HA but still very minor point. I might add a little room in front of him. Congrats

lovely exposure and BG David! agree that a little more head-tilt in your direction would have put it over the top...

I've heard how tough these birds are to photograph in flight. You pulled it off against a varied BG. Kudos to you! The head angle could be better, but I'd be pretty proud of this one if it were mine.

Great inflight shot David. Good exposure throughout, and just love the detail and colours on their heads. Killer BG. The HA could have been better.

Nice one, David. Knowing what it would have taken to get this from a boat--Wow!
