i shot jpegs but i see that there is a lot of ppl that shoots row files , the row files is better than the jpehs ones ? ... i use the jpegs thanks that they are not that big in size like the rows . row files in my camera is about 18-20MB ..
but im not sure with one of those files are better .... the camera i use is canon eos 50d...
While you can get excellent images with jpegs, raw will give several things that you can't get with jpegs:
1) Higher precision. This allows you to pull more details out of shadows and highlights.
2) Greater dynamic range.
3) #1 and 2 allows for additional corrections, for example substantially different color balance.
4) Raw converters have a lot of tools for making a better image from raw data, including:
a) better algorithms for making sharper images
b) lens aberration corrections
c) saturation recovery
plus more. All these tools and ability to process the data require a more hands on approach and that takes time and experience in using those tools. Many here feel it is worth the effort (including me).
thank u , Roger u telling me , there is any idea , what kind of raw software or converters do i need ? any good idea for it ? right now i i have photoshop cs4 , ACD see pro and photo matix for HDR ...
thanks for the message any way .
If you shoot RAW and open an image in PS it will open (AdobeCameraRaw) Can make lots of corrections right there then it goes to PS !! No need to get anything else !!!
