Here is the Ferruginous Hawk that the rehaber brought with him. What a beautiful bird, it seems that this girl has a slight wing deformity that made her owner out west decide she that she was not worth training in falconry and was going to euthanize her. She is 6 months old.

We tried to keep the perch a little wild as we wanted to hid the jes a bit, not sure if this pine is out west but we did the best we could, the owls were a little easier :)

These are the folks that Grace had called for the skimmer and owl chicks.. great people that we are happy to support.

Lou, the angle of light and the head angle are very nice....and so it the bird.

But the image is a little overexposed. If you have the RAW file, try pulling the exposure down a bit. Check if you get details in the whites. And I also think there is a color cast. If this is a crop, you might want to crop less so as to include the tail. Was flash used? If so, then I think, it might been better without it.

Lou, Beautiful bird . I like the perch and think it did the trick. I agree it looks a bit overexposed. Very nice details. Seems a bit tight in the frame.

Great work with the perch Lou. Does seem a bit bright here as well. And yes it is a magnificent bird.

I like the setup and eye contact. Another vote for darkening it and maybe a bit more contrast, too bad about the clipped tail. Could you post the techs?

Hmmm.. histo is fine on the RAW and I ran it past a neutralizer for cast. I did it on my laptop.
