As I was watching this cormi fish I knew the light was in my face but as there was no other possible position, I thought I'd try a silhouette and was delighted when I saw the light effect in this frame. C&C encouraged and greatly appreciated.

Very interesting and creative. Personally I like it. Can the band of white around the head and neck be toned down or eliminated somehow?
    Well done

I like the silhouette look, and the waves in the BG look cool. Great job with what you had to work with. :)

Duplicate the layer (CTRL+J) set the mode to darken - click on original layer and use the clone stamp to clone away the white halo - it will not effect the dark area's of the bird.

The light effect i]on the fish s very nice - a lower shooting angle may have been a option here - compositionally it doesnt quite work for me - cant put my finger on it - lets see what our brothers and sisters say - Could well just be me LOL :)

    Hi Lady Katie,
I like the capture, would consider cropping 1/4 from the top to make it a tighter pano, thus putting all of the attention on your subject and his new found catch. Also might want to darken the light area on the subject's body...looking good...keep them coming...;)

i think it just needs some more canvas down below. and a little off the top as gus suggested. i might set that water on fire too. would definitely change the mood!!

Agree on the canvas below ... not that worried about reflection but just want more room below the bird !!

Great idea from Lance with the duplicating layer ..... clever !!! This will make one fine print Katie !!!

I love this picture with it's dream-like quality and colors. Personally I don't have a problem with the composition. Only thing I find slightly distracting is the halo effect mentioned above. I find it sometimes creeps in with the use of the shadows/highlights adjustment in photoshop although it may be caused by something altogether different here. However, a stunning picture which I would love to have hanging on my wall!
