    Default An unshy Shy Albatross

    Had another pelagic on weekend. Unfortunately it was too calm and most of the birds sat on the water like ducks on a pond. The odd albatross and shearwater whizzed past and this one came too close and I cut off both wings. Cropped a little for comp.

    1D2n 300/f4 1.4X
    ISO 400 f6.3 1/6400 harsh midday light

    I've got no complaints about cut off wings when the comp looks this nice. i love the detail on the beak and the eye-shadow, things that could easily be lost on a full-body shot. Lovely.
