    Dave, nice composition on this! I would say to strengthen the image you could go one of two ways: either move in closer at f4 and fill the frame 75% with the in-focus bud or keep the composition the way it is and increase your DOF to f8 or f11. My point here is there is more OOF than in focus and it makes my eye go to the OOF areas right away.

    Jules makes a good point, but you did a good job with the selective focus and composition.
