Danny might have a bath full of bluebirds but I've got a feeder full of sparrows! This was taken earlier today - the feeders were packed despite our unusual November temperature of nearly 75 degrees! It's been an incredible weekend of great warm weather but I have a feeling this isn't going to last much longer. :( Good thing I got all the feeders cleaned up and ready to go for the winter!
I'm working on it Fabs! I need the right sized branch to fall from one of my trees...everything has either been too thin or too thick.
I just put up a new rack this weekend that will hold six roosting pockets. My birdfood store owner said it should really draw in the wrens and chickadees so hopefully I'll have a ton of those to photograph this winter as well as the usual suspects!

Get those perches up. Those feeders will be getting mighty busy when the cold weather and snow hit. When there's snow on the ground....clear a patch and put some seed down....it's amazing the ground feeders that you'll get. If you want a "homemade recipe for suet" email me and I'll send it to you. They really love that.
Thanks, Lana...but I think I've already got it! These guys ate me out of house and home last year - when I stopped and realized how much I was spending on bird food I almost fell over - could have had a new lens with that amount of money!
Still, I love watching them. I had over a dozen cardinal pairs and almost 3 dozen goldfinches last winter so no doubt I'll be paying out the nose again this year as they all come back with this year's babies. I wonder if the Audubon society would sponsor me???
