This Eastern Cottontail had taken shelter under the Firebush in my Hummingbird Garden, during an afternoon summer rain shower. I took this, just after the rain had stopped. There was not alot of light, so I used an ISO of 800 and hand held my Canon Rebel XTi with 100-400 lens, as I was squating low to the ground to try to get at the rabbit's level. My camera will genenerally produce a good amout of noise at ISO 800, but I only cropped this image, minimally, so did not have a problem. No flash was used. I used aperture priority at 5.6, which gave me a shutter speed of 1/125 at 400mm. Otherwise, I may have added a little fill light, using Picasa software. If there was any sharpening done, at all, it was very minimal.

Did well having with a clean view of the face Great look !!

Did well with the tech settings, need the ISO for a decent shutter speed. PS wise might tone down the red & yellow channel ... will show more texture/detail in the flowers !!

Thanks for the tip about the color channels. I'm a beginner with all the post editing, but will get my notes out and try that.

Glenda Digital cameras will generally over saturate those channels, particularly the red.

Nice use of the bushes to frame him.
