    Default Cascading Light

Original image made this morning at Peace Valley Park (Bucks County, PA). I like the rays of light cutting through the trees behind me and selectively shining on the scene before me. I immediately thought motion blur (as I have often of late).

    Canon 50D; 70-200mm f/2.8L IS lens; handheld

    0.6 sec @ f/16; ISO 160; -1/3 EV

Pano crop to highlight the "cascading light". Exposure and Blacks in Lightroom. Clarity and Vibrance. A touch of Topaz Adjust. Curves adjustment to add contrast.

While it's all about the light, I'm not sure of the way the light dances throughout the image. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Ed, I am drop dead in love w/ the left side of the image-the right side could use some tweaks. The main bright area on the right side could be easily cloned from the left side if you aren't against that. I love the blue/greens to the almost midnight feel of the BG.

Ed, I agree with Denise about the right side. Maybe just toning down the two light streaks on the right would
do the trick. Either way, it's a really nice image.:)

Thanks Denise. Thanks Cheryl. Obviously we are looking at this image a bit differently. When I cropped, I first cropped OUT the cascading waterfalls of light to the right. There is more left to the left as you can see below where I posted that image. But I ended up preferring the darkness vs. light in the image I ended up posting above which is why I ended up posting it rather than the image below.

Re: Cloning. I am not against cloning at all but I am opposed to replacing large portions of an image. So I would prefer to shift the crop to the left rather than clone in a whole new right side.

Actually, my first choice just may be a slightly different image showing the entire pano view. No left or right cropping at all. That one is in the post below this one.

OOPS!!! Only did 800 pixels wide on these two.

And the other image I mentioned in the post immediately above.

Taking it from -1/3 EV to -2/3 EV does make a difference.

    Ed,

I agree with Denise about how much I like the first re- post. It's a very mysterious image to me.
    Thanks for sharing....
