    This was the first shot I took with my D300 last year and thought it deserved a rework.

    Great catch for a first image with a new camera, Bill. Difficult subject with whites and blacks with that light angle. You've kept nice detail in the white cheek but there is a lot of blocked up shadow and underwing noise at ISO 800. I like the fact that there is some detail in the sky/clouds but there is a lot of posterisation with big chunks of magenta in the blue.

    Very nice and sharp image. Nice to go back and rework fond images, especially with a new camera.
    I do like the clouds. As mentioned above the dark areas around the head, wings and tail area could use some selective dodging and detail recovery if there is any detail there.
    Overall a pleasing image.
