Really captures that drowsy, sunning mood. BG and perch are very nice and I love the plumage details.

Best of the series Chas! Love the yellow shafts. Great light and nice BG too. I only wish that you'd had enough DOF to get the perch completely in focus. Overall an excellent image though!

Hi Chas, This is lovely. I love the how you were able to capture an image of this bird that shows off it's colors. The reds, yellows, peach, orange/browns are very pleasing. I find the image well exposed and sharp. I like the perch and the background. Overall one fine image. Well done!!!

Absolute stunner and there's only one thing that detracts a bit to my eyes....that being the OOF portion of the perch in the lower front.

    Thanks everyone for comments.
HAd a great week with the Flickers that year. Seemed a whole family (assumed) wanted to hang around. Will that be duplicated? doubt it. Advice ! Shoot when it happens.
