    Default Stacked Converters

Posting this image for illustration purposes. At Yellowstone found a GBH but was a far away, started with the 500 and 2.X but not enough then decided to stack converters.

Something I don't recommend as a casual thing to do but does work !! With enough shutter speed for the extreme magnification and good tripod techniques you can make sharp images ... are they as sharp as the lens by itself .. no but they don't look bad either !!!

    Comments welcome and much appreciated

Al - looks really good for stacked converters, as you mentioned really got to have that technique and high shutter speed down to get em sharp.
    Nice!!

Looks pretty good to me Al! I can't get a great blue with that much detail from 10 feet with my 100-400...You certainly maintained the detail and it looks very sharp. BG is sweet as well. Did you use a flash or was it too far away??

Hi Nick It was just natural light and not much of it, flash would not reach at all ... even at short distance with a high shutter speed the flash reach is not much !!!

    500 X 1.4 = 700 X 2 = 1400 X 1.3 crop factor(?) - wow!!

Well done, I have never seen this before, don't try it at home right (smile). Nice methods and creative thinking.

Your image is very sharp even at such a long zooming, very well done. The half close eye give this heron a little meanie look.
