Hi Denise: What an interesting, rosy color on that bird. The tailfeathers remind me of little Christmas tree drawings (weird - I know). This is a really sweet, low angle photo and I love it. I've been seeing so many awesome low-angle shots that I'm going to have to change my technique of sitting with my tripod over my lap. Thanks for the great shot.

What a nice pose with the ruffled tail feathers. You couldn't ask for better eye contact, and I like that the bill is clear of the plumage. Great sharpness and the low angle is quite good. A winner!

Sweet, sweet light Denise, which in turn has brought out lovely warm colours. The ruffled tail feathers really adds interest to the image, and what a perfect angle of capture. Well done.

Denise...your low-angle shore birds shots are, to say it mildly, awesome. I liked the tail feathers and the compostion of this a lot.

Hi Denise, I like this image very much The background, low angle, soft colors/light are all very nice. The bird is sharp and your exposure looks spot-on. The ruffled tail feathers add interest for me. For my taste I wouldn't change a thing. Thanks for sharing.

Denise I have to say that you are the shorebirds girl!

Beautiful bird. Love the eye contact and as mentioned by Doug, the bill not ''touching'' the feathers. Also love the BG and the warm light of the day, good thing you included it.

Denise this is a wonderful image! As others have noted, the soft pastel colors are a big part of the success here me thinks. Ripples extending to the frame edges helps too. Yes I to love the pose and head turn. The only thing that would improve this would be to have some feet. Very, very lovely shot in my book!

Boy this is really nice, Denise. Just love the pose with the ruffled tail feathers. The light, low angle, details, and again the creamy gradient BG. Excellent work!

This one is just kinda special :)

Beautiful light, background, great low angle, great sharpness without being overdone.

If I did anything different it might have been to use just a bit of shadows / highlights in the back feathers.
