This is an abstract of a whale we saw on our visit to Hawaii. It was one of the most inspiring days of our lives. To see these mighty creatures free and safe in Hawaii.

Modification included; Watercolor, Dry Brush, Dark Strokes, Hue/Saturation, Brightness/Contrast.

    Enjoy!

Mark, I love the water color and the effect on it. I may have left the tail w/o the treatment as it gets a bit lost in there. Nice work w/ the water!

Thanks for viewing and comment, Denise. Appreciate it.

At first I didn't like the tail effect that much either. However, I felt it adds to the overall vision and I like to have people move into the image and find what is there. I think leaving it without the effect would have made it more obvious and therefore not an element to be explored. Just my thoughts when I posted. Appreciate yours and may try moving in that direction more in future work on it.

I liked the water effect too. ;) Thanks.

Mark, I like the water effect a lot. And I'm impressed that you can share your work flow - I always think I'm
going to write it down while it's a work in progress and it always gets away from me.:o

Thanks for viewing and comment Cheryl.

I had the same problem until I started using the layers for each step and labeling them before moving on. I still miss a few now and then, but it has helped when the going gets rough! Added work, but only way I've found. Writing them down didn't work for me, personally, as I moved too fast to the next step. Still have to remember the layers for each, but I go back if I did forget, prior to moving on.

After I finish and add the signature, I copy all the steps (layer labels) prior to posting. I copy to MS Word, and then write the background text to go with it. Sometimes, I do more than one image in a day, so I just save the text to the same folder as the JPEG image, and label it to agree with the image title, so I can use the text when posting the image.

Hope that helps or gives you another process to try. I'm sure there is an easier way, but I haven't found one that works for me yet! :o ;)

I pretty much agree with Denise on this one, Mark. The water looks terrific. And the white does draw the eye to the whale tail. But as much as I like the effect on the water, I'm just not liking it on the whale tail. Maybe a different effect on the tail?
