Blue Jays can be quite nervous, but they do love being fed. These guys were coming in for some cracked corn that I spread out on the rock. I thought the rain made for nice inclement feel to the image. Quite low light, but once in a while one of the individuals would pose long enough for some sharp images.

beautiful shot and capture. tad sharp. a round of NR required over the bg to me. rain strokes adding lot to the frame. how if we crop the bottom a bit ? just personal thoughts.

    nice shot Dan,
Nice BG and interesting perch. The rain of course gives the image a unique feel.
I agree with the composition you've chosen.

Very sweet the bird looks among the rains. The perch too is a very natural one and over all a great shot

Hi Daniel: Rain droplets always seem to add something to a shot. Its funny how bluejays have the tendency to crouch down like that, always a little nervous. The photo reminded me of several of my bluejay shots where they are in the same position. Thanks.

Love the way the rain adds another element to this capture. You have wonderful colors and details here. I've been considering adding the 100-400 to my gear. So many people advise against it. However, I see that you consistently made wonderful pictures with it. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Dan no sunflower seeds this time. I like the pose, and love the different hue's of blues on the Jay. Good job with the sharpness for that slow ss. Well done.

Just a beautiful image, Daniel. Details, saturation, and rich looking BG are very nice, and the rain streaks are a nice accent!
