    Default Kestrel takes flight

I sat in my car one morning in Utah, and noticed a Kestrel basking in the sunlight. I pointed my camera at the bird and fired off a burst of photos as it took off (had to wait a good 15 minutes for him to fly). This is the best image from that series.

    Nice Doug!
If I had to quibble about something it would be the horizonal part of the perch visible on the bottom edge.

    Otherwise perfection!

I like the details and exposure. Very nice wing position. Agree with little more space on the bottom to show perch. Very nice job,

love the action here. especially that raised left claw! I like the space to bird has to move into as well. I do wish there was a tiny bit more DOF to keep the front wing tip sharp.

No quibbles from me. You've caught the right moment. Nicely detailed and sharp image.

Great timing, pose and details and also like the raised foot. I might add a bit space right and bottom. What is in the BG?

Great timing, exposure and action here. I'm torn about the snow. I think I long for either more detail, or for it to be totally smooth.
