I like the colors and detail in both the blacks and the whites

Great pose, reflection, and exposure Scott. Fine detail appears a bit soft on my monitor, was this cropped?

Nicely done. An option with the sleeping pose is to point the lens well to the left. The bird's head is angled slightly down and away perhaps depriving you of that red eye....

Great details in the blacks, but some of the whites are hot, especially the cheek (I checked PS histogram). Neat looking water - did you do something to it post capture...it looks painted. I agree with Artie's comp suggestion.

It is a small crop. The water is untouched -- just mother nature showing off during the "Golden Hour"

    Scott:

Techs covered already. My first thought when I opened the image was that it was just a bit flat. I opened it in PS CS4, moved the black slider in to 14. This maintained good detail in the blacks, but gave the image a bit more bite. Just an option to consider.

    Cheers

    Randy
