A neighbor down the street has two Black Swans that he bred every year until one was struck by a car a couple of years ago. The cygnets comanded a terrific price! Today he has the pen and one of the goslings, now a cob. They are not restrained and spend a lot of time in a meadow. The Black Swan is native to Austraila and has been introduced to New Zeland. It has now been imported into Europe and North America. The swan is a very viscous bird and will intimidate you. There is no doubt in my mind but what it would strike me if I turned my back on it. They are beautiful birds!

A really nice image of this swan. I've only seen one a long time ago and it was beautiful. The exposure is good and there's a lot of detail. I also like the curves. I think that this is a little tight and might need a tad more sharpening...but just the bird. Is there a lake on pond around? This guy would be gorgeous swimming and a much more natural setting that the grass.

Peter, love the neck curvature captured. I agre that it does need more sharpening, soft on my LCD.

Great neck position and pose. I would give it a bit more room at the top.
