    Default Mountain blue bird

I found this guy at Peone Prairie wetlands last spring.

Very sweet pose on a soft, complimentary BG. Good head angle and catch light. Shame about the unnatural perch, but I'm just jealous ;)
I love how he's all fluffed up, you could dount the feathers.

Good-looking specimen, angle, soft light, BG and sharpness. I'm not too crazy about the perch - I just don't like barbed wire :) - and might try to remove the magenta cast.

Beautiful bird, as the others commented. If only we could dicate where these beauties landed. I've never seen the Mountain BB, but am fortunate to host their Eastern cousins in my yard, almost year round. Thanks for sharing yours.

What a nice bird. I like the colors in both the bird and the BG. I, personally dont mind the perch much. Beautiful capture. Congrats.

I am fine with the perch and in fact like how it looks with the dof that you chose. The bird is as cute as can be, all fluffled up like that and the bg sets him off nicely.

Thanks all for kind replies. I guess I have no problem with the perch, the alternate was a bird house, but I really never got a keeper there anyway.

On magenta cast, I am reading the CD I got from Art, hoping to get some insight into this. I hope to someday be able to look at an image and see that it has a color cast.

Love the bird, the vibrant blues, the killer sharpness, and even the barbed wire. I like the way the bird is sitting on the bend of the wire....

Very nice, the perch is where you find them and works well with birds of open spaces IMHO.

    Dang!
What a beautiful bird you've captured. Those blues are amazing!
I don't mind the perch at all as it reminds of the habitat where I've seen this bird before.
    Nice work Ben!

Glad you liked it. I have its mate on a metal fence post, might show that later on.

Just love the detail and soft look to the bird. Lots of texture in the feathers that in this case contrast with the hard wire. BG is also nice.
