    I like the pose and the reflection in the water, but I somehow feel the aesthetics are a bit off with the subject. The brightness of the water distracts me from the sleepiness of the bird, somehow making the water become the subject for me. Not sure if that makes sense, but it's how I feel. Maybe getting lower would have given more emphasis to the duck.

    I agree a lower angle (if possible) would have been good but I'm not sure about the above water comment as the duck is clearly the main subject. Good exposure and details.

    Desmond, this is a good comparision that shows what a "pure" Mallard looks like compared to your previous "hybrid" post :-)

    Just looked again on my proper monitor rather than a laptop screen and I'd like to take back what I said about the water seeming to grab the focus for me - it must have been something weird on that screen.
