    Default Brown-headed Nuthatch set-up

    Brown-headed Nuthatch

    Harris Co, TX

    D2Xs, 600, ISO 250, f8, 1/500.

What I love about this species is that they will respond very quickly to a playback call in the middle of winter.
This is the male and female.

Just killer. Great BG, perch, perfect HA's, and poses. Perfect DOF coverage. I might tone down the bottom part of the perch just a tad.

    Well Done!!

Ahhh..one of my favorite backyard birds. Great perch, background (especially how it mimics the color of the Nuthatches) and an added bonus..a male and a female. Is it my monitor or am I seeing a green tint to the image?

Only two? Amazing d-o-f. Was this before you got the camera with the great control of noise at the higher ISOs? (I was surprised to see ISO 250.)

Yes Artie, I never went over ISO 320 on the D2Xs so 250 it was in good light.

This capture is just amazing. I love how the colors all work and blend. The composition and positions of the birds here put this one over the top.

Another Amazing image! I am really hyped about receiving your new Songbird Photography Setup CD. I took a workshop from you in St. Augustine a couple of years ago, and for me, and the type of photography, I do, your workshop was the best I have ever taken. Thanks for sharing your beautiful images, and a "Pre" Thank You, for sharing your knowledge to help others achieve similar experiences.
