    Default Northern Harrier Male

The Northern Harrier male has to be one of my favorite raptors; gorgeous silver plumage and piercing yellow eyes.

Doug, I really like the near head on capture of this beauty.I like the cooler colors of the bird against the warmer BG, and for me is a perfect example of where this bird does it's hunting. Very, very nice.

Doug....very nice capture indeed. I loved the inclusion of habitat and the colors....and the eye as well. One round of USM on the bird will help IMO.

Great flight posture Doug, and I can see why you enjoy their eyes - definately striking. I would maybe take a bit off the top. Well captured.

Exposure looks good. Pose is good with the wings creating a diagonal. Eye contact and BG lovely - looks cold! Agree on possibly a touch more sharpening to the head.

lovely pose, exposure, colours and BG Doug! I'm gonna go the other way and say a little more off the bottom (since it's flying up...)

I really like th soft muted colours of the bird and habitat. The inclusion of the tall, fall grasses and snow looks great. Nice job on the pose. A pretty bird. Dave

This is a real beauty Doug and I too find the nothern harrier to be a favorite. Its nice to see the background coming through to provide the habitat setting but not disturbing the image of the birdy. Gotta love the eye as well. Thanks.

Love it. I've never seen a Northern Harrier image that captures as well as this the way he cruises low over his domain. And I personally like the comp as posted.

This is great, so nice to see some habitat in the shot. In an ideal world it would have been nice if some of the inflorescences had been situated so as not to be directly behind the wing but that is just a nit and more than one can hope for with a flying bird.

Now if this is a Northern Harrier why is it wearing Confederate gray?
