I think he is beyond pain !!!! No idea how they function with so much gear !!!
He needs to switch one of the long lensed cameras on his right shoulder to his left and vis versa to balance out the load... He's gonna be walking funny tomorrow!
I thought he needed an "equipment coach." I don't really understand hauling a 70-200 2.8 and a 200 1.8. If he's that attached to the 200, then he should have the f/4 70-200. And the same can be said of that 24-70 and 50mm setup he has with him. Crazy!!!
My shoulders hurt just thinking of all those Canon brand straps...OP/TECH all the way!!
He does look important?
Prunes and a lighter load (what?) will make him a more cheerful fellow.

I don't have a clue if he's actually important or just feels important. One of his lanyards (yes, he's wearing more than one!) does have CNN printed on it, and there were some folks from CNN present. And you won the "most clever way to make this thread gross" category :)
He's forgot the hoods on his two telephoto lenses : not professionnal !!!
Actually, that's the one thing that I didn't really think about much, because most photojournalists don't bother with hoods for anything less than 500mm. Several photographers were using 400mm f/2.8's without hoods, to say nothing of the shorter lenses. Hoods just get in the way a lot of the time when you're working in close quarters with other people. It makes you appreciate nature photography!Originally Posted by Thonnaksar NOP

I will routinely have my 200 f2 and my 70-200 on seperate bodies when i do an assignment like this
also a 14-24 now and always a 50 1.4
thats 4 bodies all the time as you do not have time to change lenses when the going is hot
the fast lenses are for the sideline or behind the scene instances and the other lense are for podium stuff when the light is good
Thank god for the D3 for now i do not need the flash attached as much
also never use lens hoods in these cases as they just get knocked off and you get tired of buying new ones
the 14 -24 will have the hood as it is more suseptable to stray light
overall it is just a picture of a normal working photojournalist
you should see us at the olympics when we have twice as many bodies on us

P.S. actually the 14-24 has a built in hood but when i used the 12-24 always had that hood on

I can't even keep one camera slung on a shoulder because of the slant, I envy you squared shouldered types.:D
Try the Upstrap. It's expensive, but I really like the one I have. It can keep a body from falling off my shoulder even if I'm wearing a leather jacket.
I have contemplated buying a second one for my other body (to say nothing of buying one for my 400 DO), but at $30.00 a pop, and $50.00 for the quick release version, I hesitate to do so.
