I'm sure the intent of the Assignments is to have us go out and capture something new; but until I have a chance to do so, here is one of many Vermont foliage images from my archives. This is scanned from a 35mm slide taken some years ago. If you look too carefully you will find some odd things going on, but at least the colors are nice. Sorry I don't have the EXIF. C&C welcomed.
What film was that? Did you digitally process the slide?
I love the high saturation of the red and blues, almost hyper, but the grass actually looks very realistic to my eye. The great white on the church, with details retained is impressive. This images says, "brilliant fall colors" to me. The dark blue of the sky and the brilliance DO make me wonder if it's gone beyond "real." If it has, it still pleases my eye.
I'm curious to see what others say. I think that the crop is perfect.
David, the film was Kodachrome (I don't remember which, but probably 64), taken with a Pentax KX and Vivitar 28-90mm 2.8-3.5 zoom lens. I used an Epson Perfection V500 Photo scanner to import it into PS. I don't remember what I did in processing, but it certainly must have included a boost to the saturation to take it "beyond real", and sharpening (some halo is evident). Thanks for looking.
