Made this image near Mumbai with a Canon 30D and 500 f/4 with 1.4xTC. This chap landed just as I was packing up for the day and so had to click it without a tripod, so I'd attribute the sharpness to luck.
ISO-250, 1/400 and f/6.3 .
Have used Lens blur on the background. (Hope I haven't overdone it).

Rahul...very nice capture. Sharpness, considering you were handholding effective focal length 1120 at 1/400, is extremely commendable. Thanks for sharing. can't add anything more to the good stuff already said.

Ditto all of the above but all of the boys and girls need to sharpen their pencils as they have all overlooked a serious and easily corrected flaw in this image. With the light from the right and slightly from the rear the forward part of the bird including the face and the breast and the belly are darker than the back :)

I painted a rough QM of the darker areas and lifted the Curve (as described in Digital Basics) :) :)

Repost doesn't work to me. The shadows adjustment is too much. I guess the dar areas cannot be light! ;)
On Artie's repost the flank and belly is almost grey lacks any contrast.
Original image is fine though a bit tight for my taste.
