    Default Male Wood Duck

One of the first wood ducks I have has a chance to photograph. Wish that the HA was better here--but I could not get round in time to catch it, and this group of ducks are very shy right now. :(

beautifully captured provided the circumstances you had. here we cant expect to have ducks to give such close capture with 400mm (not even at 500) in India. very few places where we may get such close. lucky u.

Very nice colors against attractive BG. Love the wing position, wing blur doesn't bother me as much as the head angle does, it is slightly taking off away from you. Focus seems to be on base of the the wing instead of eye/head.

A lot to like here Bonnie! Tough to pull off a wing flap at 1/500. Hopefully you'll get to spend some more time with the Woodies and be blessed with some good light.

I think this is a beautiful image. Love the low angle viewpoint and the dark background. The head angle doesn't bother me at all. Well done!
