Early in the morning last week at the Parker River National Wildlife refuge in Newbury MA.
Very strong winds which slowed the bird down nicely. The egrets had been moving south to north while changing feeding positions in the marsh, leaving their heads in shadow. Persistence paid off and I had one fly into the strong SE wind and into the sun :)

NICE!! Excellent exposure, great BG. A bit of a sharpening halo around the legs could be fixed. One of my favorite tricks when there is a a slight blue cast on a white bird's plumage (especially when there no blue present elsewhere in the image) is to desaturate the blue and cyan channels...try it here, you might like the result!
