Default Great Egret ~ Windy Fall Marsh

Early in the morning last week at the Parker River National Wildlife refuge in Newbury MA.

Very strong winds which slowed the bird down nicely. The egrets had been moving south to north while changing feeding positions in the marsh, leaving their heads in shadow. Persistence paid off and I had one fly into the strong SE wind and into the sun :)

    Nicely done, very good exposure.
I like the wingspan and position, HA, color, light and BG.

Whites well controlled Jim, and the egret pops so well from the colourful BG. Well captured.

Nicely caught flight shot. I like the whites. There might be a bit too much blur in the BG for my taste.

Very nice Jim. For I believe a long wing span, dof works very well also. Dave

NICE!! Excellent exposure, great BG. A bit of a sharpening halo around the legs could be fixed. One of my favorite tricks when there is a a slight blue cast on a white bird's plumage (especially when there no blue present elsewhere in the image) is to desaturate the blue and cyan channels...try it here, you might like the result!
