    Default Steppe Buzzard

I went to the nature reserve close to my house yesterday, and was fortunate to capture this Steppe Buzzard. I dont have many raptors in my files, so I am pleased with this one. I was also glad that he was in the open. I removed only one other niggling branch that was a distraction. Believe it or not, the sky was actually bright blue. A cloud came over as I took the shot, and was always worried he was going to fly.

I like the warm color tones and the sharpness. Pose and eye-contact look great. I might go w/ a vertical crop if you have the room. Very nice capture. Congrats!

Stuart, great job getting this guy. Good exposure and sharpness and head angle. Wished he wasn't so high up but still not to bad. I might cut some space from the left. Other than that wonderful.

Beautiful Stuart, like the details and fragile balance here, like to see this 1024 pixels wide if you have a larger version.

Great job Stuart, and I like the perch a lot, nice complementary color and not too distracting. Was this a full frame shot?

Great looking raptor. Love the head angle and sky. Light seems a bit harsh.

Glad to see you got one Stu. Nice feather detail and you have done well with the exposure. I like the eye contact.
He looks a bit too central in the comp for me?
