Default Lady Kestrel - Up close

    Attached Images Attached Images

They have just arrived at Bangalore, Karnataka, India. its there winter stop here. they are pretty shy ones, but if you know how to approach them, a few will let you get close to them, she was one of them.

    Spec:1/1600, F 7.1, ISO 400, -1/3.

I wanted to give more space around but too much of her OOF back was seen so I cut close.

Kiran, you are so fortunate to get close to one of these lovely birds. I like the detail, markings and colours on her, and I like your comp as is. Well captured brother.

Beautiful details and comp. I might adjust the steel look to the eye a bit. Very nice capture. You really are getting some great bird shots!

Kiran Bhai, Beautiful head shot of a pretty species. Comp looks good and nice BG. Maybe darkening the pupil will make the eye stand out more. Congrats

Kiran...nice tight crop. excellent sharpness and feather details. Only suggestion would be stop down further since you had SS of 1/1600. If the feathers near your watermark would have been as sharp as the rest, it would have been perfect.

Kiran, I are very lucky to get this close. Sweet close up, detail and eye contact are super, as is the BG.

i echo kaustubh deshpande. wish you had used little higher aperture to get the bottom feathers in focus as well.
the images still is a killer one. had tried to find your reflection in the eye but failed this time :)

Lovely soft light, exposure, and green BG. The eye seems just a tad over-sharpened to me.

Harshad, and Clement: it wouldn't hurt to say why you liked the image. :)

Kiran, thanks for a beautiful portrait. I actually like the way the feathers blur out at the bottom. It makes the image a bit warmer and more pleasing.

Good IQ Kiran, just love the feather detail.
It does look a bit oversharpened to me as well.
I would tone down the top half of the eye just a tiny bit, to me it seems to overpower the image.(only a very small amount)
