    Default Rough-legged Hawk

This is my second post. I tried to use some of the suggestions I received from the first post...i.e. sun behind me and bird coming towards me. I only wish he was looking at me and not scouring the ground for voles!

This was taken this morning in a farmers field near Creston, B.C.

    Model: Canon EOS REBEL T1i
    Shutter Speed: 1/1600 second
    Aperture: F/8.0
    Focal Length: 500 mm
    ISO Speed: 400
    Date Taken: Nov 01, 2009, 10:02:19 AM

    Appreciate your feedback....

    Cheers,

    Brent

Nice wingspread you got, and from a good species. The sun was relatively to your back, but quite high and to your left. This has cast some shadows on the bird, including this side of the face. Nice BG, and I like the dangling talons. As posted the image could use an additionla round of sharpening to refine the details.

Very nice pose and wing spread. Agree with Daniel on another round of USM.

Great stuff Brent!! I don't mind that there is no eye contact. Always nice to see a shot where the bird looks like it had no idea that the photographer was there. Agree about a bit more sharpening. Well done, keep those posts coming. :)

Nice flight pose and good BG. Since there is no eye contact I would prefer to see a perch to emphasize landing posture, the image is quite soft on my screen.
