This one is from awhile back. I caught the bird as it jumped in the air. The image was a little hot on the upper wing, and I used the Recovery slide in LR to help that. Otherwise it is cropped 50% and tweaked (sharpened, etc, no NR). How does it look?

Did a good job of recovering the whites but can tell there is something fishy with the colors around the neck area !! Do like the goofy pose and made one sharp image !!!

If you are going after a white bird it is much safer to figure a manual exp setting so changing bg will not give you trouble .. and in auto modes you will always need some compensation unless you are getting all bird !!!

    Hi Wendell,
I like the hopping pose, your bird is sharp with a nice clear eye...agree with the color around the neck area being a tad off...keep them coming...

    Alfred & Gus:

I'm puzzled with the "neck color" problem, since I did nothing different there than what I did "globally", except for removing one very small dust spot with the Spot Removal tool in LR. Perhaps it was the Shadows/Highlights adjustment that I made in PSE??

Wendell, techs covered, nice action shot. Love the day in like of nature theme - well done.

Keep an eye on those blinkies and adjust EV when needed.

Love the jumping pose, very funny. The strange color can come from shadow/highlight recovery, might try to just selective adjust the wing.

Thanks Thanaboon; I believe you are right about selectively adjusting shadow/highlight . . .
