    I believe. Taken this morning just out side of Vancouver, BC. It was hanging out with a bunch of Black Turnstones which are also in the photo. It was definitely a bit bigger then Turnstones and not as hectic. Dave

    Nice photo...I've been to west coast 5 times to try and photograph one of these (never even saw one) sure looks like a Surfbird...according to my books, it looks like a juvenile (Nat. Geo. book)..but not certain of that.

    Thanks Guys. First time I have seen it, or at least noticed it, and I have lived on west coast since '83. It was hard to get a good shot of it alone because the Turnstones were always milling around. Dave
