    H Dave,
    Wow, that is quite some swell - were you in a boat?! I like the comp - it does give the idea that the bird is alone in a hostile sea. I also like the hint of a reflection.

    Nice comp and setting Dave. The bird looks a bit grainy, and maybe lacking fine feather grain on my monitor. Was this a large crop or harsh lighting?

    Thank you both for commenting. I was pushing my luck with the 500 and 1.4TC, both relatively new to me. I was on shore with a strong wind blowing and photo is ff. I was drawn to the composition and environmental angle of the shot. I have made a couple mental notes to myself, pick easier subjects for the time being, and always check photos without my contact lens in before posting. Dave
