Hey Al and Fabs, this one is for you. This little fellow was painted with a Nikon D70s using a Nikkor 300mm f/4D at 420mm focal length with a 1.4 T/C. Used aperture priority and matrix metering at 0EV; ISO 200, and captured at 1/100sec. - f/9. Comments greatly appreciated.

    Your humble student,

    Gus...:D

Wow! The color in the water is super fantastic. I wish the bird were in focus though.

Hi Gus Got him at the perfect reflection point That water is magical

I would give yourself a better chance and up the ISO which should be fine to 400 or so !!! Also open up the lens In this case shutter speed would be more important then dofs Excellent placement for the little guy If anything would take a tad of the top for proportion

Just made a couple of changes added canvas on the back (just a tad) color balance and worked on the eye so it appears sharper Looking forward to shooting with you at Crandon !!!!

Gus, the water here is spectacular and takes this image to a new level. I share the feelings of the others that a faster shutter speed (via higher ISO and opened up lens - lower f-number) would have helped you to obtain a sharp image of the Blue-winged Teal. With time all the elements will come together!
