Welcome to BPN! Details and exposure look good. The messy eating behavior looks quite authentic. :) As you said the BG is a bit busy and the bird is very tight in the frame. Keep them coming!
Yeah, too bad about that dominant branch behind the Grosbeak. I like the messy eating pose - this is how I almost always see them. Tight in the frame, and I think it could use some brighting around the eye area (but not too much!).
