    This photograph was taken in the Sabi Sand Nature Reserve in South Africa. The light was fading so I used a spotlight to generate some light. Canon 40 D, 100-400, ISO 1000, 5.6, 1/60

    Fantastic timing to catch the mouth open as wide as possible. Good sharpness and detail It's framed just a bit tight for me maybe a bit more FG and a little more room on the right side of the frame... Congrats on this one....

    Good thinking with the light Stephen Made a difference Excellent timing and like the framing very much Other than a straight in image this is about the best !!! Big Congrats !!!

    Nice catch. I like the eye contact and the tusks sticking up through the water while the bottom jaw remains hidden. I might clone out the sparkly reflection right at the jaw hinge as it kind of draws my eye.

    Stephen very nice image. I like the pose and the fact that the hippo obviously has its eye on you.
