    Great Egret at Veteran's Oasis Park10-30-09

    I'm thinking the unusual color of the wing is a reflection of the water. I have not seen this before in any of my flight shots. Other shots I have of the underwing of egrets show the color as white. I have no idea what the white triangle is off the chest.

    1/2500 at f10 and ISO 400 -4/3 EC
    Bigma at 500m

    Dark underwing does look strange. I imagine the paler lines are reflections from the water but suspect the darkness is just a lack of light due to the light angle. The triangle is the upturned first primary of the far wing. The dark BG highlights the bird well.

    Sharpness and BG look good. The light seems to be a bit harsh and the wing position is not ideal. It would be stronger with wings all the way up or down.
