    Image was taken on the Lantana Ridge Ranch in South Texas and was awarded 1st place in the Kingfishers & Jays Category of the 2009 Coastal Bend Wildlife Photo Contest.

    James, I fixed the link. On pbase you have to use the link of the image and add /original.jpg When you edit your first post, you will see which link I used.

    Make also sure hotlinking is enabled.

    James, (I see it now). I wish the image was a bit larger. It's hard to comment on sharpness and detail at this size, but it looks good and the birds are very colorful. I like the interesting perch. Congratulations on the award!Awesome!!

    Two good head angles and I love the perch. Was this at a feeder set-up? I only wish that the tail of the one bird did not merge with the perch.

    This was at a feeder setup and I too wish the other tail did not merge with the perch.

    I agree with Denise about the image been too small to comment. But still a great image. Love the perch and BG. The catch light on the eyes seems blue.

    lovely birds here James - soft light and colours help a lot.

    I agree about the tail but all in all a fitting image for the honours it received - congrats!

    Very nice colors and poses. I'd suggest slightly lightening the heads.

    Nice two-fer! Agree with Artie about the left subject's tail, but it is nice to see the plummage from top and bottom.
