Thats a lot of geese. Dense. 1st, I would recommend not to use the large white border, particularly in this type of shot. The white pulls you out of the picture. It is so much brighter than the subject material, doesn't work for me.
From a comp. standpoint, these mass shots are always a challenge to balance DOF, trying to get clean or at least uniform edges, etc. I think the image would be much stronger if the front goose blasting off along the lower edge was sharper. I would trade sharpness there for some further back in the image. If he wasn't there, then the OOF foreground would be more acceptable.
Artie has very strong opinions about blast off shots, and perhaps he will chime in.
The image itself seems a bit dark, but it is very hard to call with that border.
I like the idea and the frame full of birds. I agree that it would be stronger without a large frame. You can post images up to 1024 pixels wide which makes commenting easier. It could go a bit brighter and I wish the out-of-focus goose in the lower right were not there. Keep them coming!
